Aftermarket replacement exhaust is complete garbage compared to factory stuff. Thank god most systems now last as long as the car does.

I wouldn’t sweat what brand you get, but modern engines rely heavily on proper oil conditions to operate properly. Unless you have a turbo or otherwise high output engine, just buy the stuff that matches the factory requirement and is on sale.

The (conventional) internal combustion engine is at or very near the limits of it’s efficiency. Every step automakers take to try and get the last bit out of them is causing more problems, just look into carbon build up issues on direct injection engines.

Have you ever moved a dresser worth tens of thousands of dollars?

Depends on where in the world you are.

Negligence is the only word approaching not properly doing your job for 30 years.

The low property taxes for a road probably stems from an original agreement to have the land developed.

Up until then, they probably wouldn’t have been able to own land in any major city outside of it’s Chinatown district.

I live far away from any majorly overpriced urban center, there’s still very large homes built on seemingly unsuited lots. One in particular is probably around 15,000 square feet, on a 30,000 square foot lot, 2 floors with garage space for 7 cars and aside from the front, the other 3 sides of the house are within 20

You’re onto the right track, the parties responsible for taking care of said responsibilities would be the ones on the hook. If there was a service contract in place, it stands to reason that it could be easily nullified leaving the accountants and lawyers on the hook.

Even today, according to an hour long documentary on CNBC several years ago, top executives for Walmart only stay at average hotels during business trips. I think it quoted something around $60 a night, assume that would change with inflation and different markets etc.

My brother priced out a replacement for his 2005 Tacoma that he paid ~$25000 for, $52000 and change.

Tires should be matched to the car and it’s use. An old car that’s a minor failure away from the scrap heap isn’t worth putting expensive tires on.

Nothing wrong with Coopers. They just have a weird corporate policy that doesn’t include giving any, or at least an exceedingly few, tires for free to people that might test or rate them.

It was a sarcastic comment. Not only is it straight, it’s also flat.

At least around here the ones that aren’t kept in mint condition were sent to scrap many moons ago. Every one that’s still on the road is fairly pristine and well cared for.

They wouldn’t even have to “restore them”. Just replace all the sheet metal.

The only reason dirt cheap goods are allowed to land on another countries shores is through a lack of tariffs.

As you get older, pneumonia is one of those things that can randomly take you out. It is not to be taken lightly.

The only people that have seen a majority increase in anything are the wealthy seeing a rise in their balance sheets. The general population is making less, so they have less money and the only reason consumer goods have become “more affordable” is because most of them are made by what equates to slave labour. It’s
