I found them much easier to kill when I stopped backing off after they took some damage and started to hulk up. They stay still long enough for a heavy charge attack from the front, or even from the back if you’re quick enough. That can lead to a visceral attack combo!

They only bring you there if they kill you while they’re still in easy mode. After a while they transform into a beast mode that increases their speed and damage a whole lot. Wait... that wasn’t very encouraging was it?

I realized it was a necessity to get a backstab or counter on them and then it became easy. If he swings his sack at you, you can easily circle around for a back stab and his hand punch is slow and can be countered. Also when it stops to buff itself at half hp is a great time for a backstab KO.

Yeah had with them at first as well. 2-handed melee weapons work well though, Hunter axe pole form power attack knocks them on their asses.
