Does this particular setup route all traffic over the VPN? I’ve been getting frustrated with the intricacies of OpenVPN and it’s minor variations depending on your platform which often leaves you wide open to broadcasting traffic outside of the VPN and likely over IPv6.

Just a word of warning: be very careful when assigning a UniqueID number. This is particularly true for numbers under 500 as these numbers are used by services as well as accounts. So if you were to assign an account a UUID of 89, you could potentially break Spotlight.

Oh definitely! I work in a lot of clinics (not as a medical professional) and learned the hard way the benefits of being nearly compulsive with hand washing. Especially after seeing the filth encrusted keyboards doctors use.

I think HVAC companies or even your local energy company can perform audits on your home. A good audit will have someone with an FLIR camera see where the hot and cold spots are so you know where to focus your improvements.

The space heater argument can backfire, however. I had a ~1400 sq ft house with a roommate. He never mentioned if his rooms got cold or not, so rather than turn up the thermostat he ran 2 electric space heaters. My electricity bill doubled compared to the previous year.
