Neither of which are what this post is about. It's about hiding the username during the pre-boot login session. Without FV encryption, a name can be hidden from the list. But with FV enabled, the list of users is exposed when the computer is started, and nothing can be done to change that besides changing to a third

Just a word of advice, this likely doesn't work if the computer is FileVault encrypted. We tried several methods to hide an admin account at work but for laptops it wouldn't work as encryption for them is mandatory.

It's cliche advice, but I cut out caffeine. Not entirely mind you, but I don't down a bunch of coffee each day. I found myself previously laying in bed wide eyed when I drank coffee or soda during the day. When I limited myself to herbal tea or a cup of coffee once or twice a week I started falling asleep as soon as

Looking at their tool, it appears my insurance rates are far lower than what they quote. Comprehensive coverage for my 2008 Camry runs about $350/6 months through AAA. The cheapest option their tool shows is $553/6 months.

I think we all know the only true way to affect change is to post something on Facebook tangentially related to what is troubling you, name no names, and maybe throw up a picture with an inspirational quote that will help people pity you.

I turned down my furnace rather than off when I leave for the simple fact that I don't want to chance water pipes freezing. I know it would need to be a set of perfect circumstances for the temperature to drop that much in the matter of 10 or so hours, but all it takes is the one time.

Good point. Getting the stopper out after removing the pivot ball will clean up most of it. In my case I take the pipe off as well to give it a good scrubbing because I'm anal that way.

For bathroom sinks with the built in stopper you'll probably end up needing to take the p-trap off as well as the main drain connected to the sink. The stoppers are notorious for collecting gunk because they have a lot of sharp angles and perpendicular parts for the mechanism.

Yeah, MS added Cloud storage to the 360 several years ago. it wasn't much space (maybe 500mb?) but it was enough to store plenty of save files.

When it comes to my professional life, I follow Ron Swanson's example with regards to religion.

Having a Synology box and testing XPenology on spare hardware, I'll say this:

Sorry, that should read "They take 20% off 2nd day air on most items"

Monoprice does a quasi-participation in this. They take 20% off 2nd day air and most items (excluding freight)

Wow, i really like this. I routinely need to send small files (such as VPN configurations) to my phone which means I either need to email it to myself or put in Dropbox, OneDrive, etc. This makes it way easier.

There is, but it's limited to the surrounding area. I just have to dust and vacuum a bit more in those areas.

I was fortunate enough to have my laundry closet outfitted with both gas and electrical outlets. When the old gas dryer started doing its death gurgle I replaced it with an electric and placed a variable vent opening in the exhaust line that went up. Now in the winter I get the benefit of using the hot air from the

The consensus is when it's specifically echoing about a permission issue, you need elevated permissions. Hence, sudo.

I didn't either but when in doubt, sudo!

I'm getting "permissioin denied"

Microsoft does do this. Windows 8.1 integrated Bing into their search feature and it collects data. Both Microsoft and Apple and upfront about this feature and offer you the ability to turn it off.
