That “text-based” adventure is a nice riff on ZZT, a computer game from the early 90's. HOURS sank into ZZT and all of it’s variants. SO GOOD.

In short: When you are drawing objects in perspective you imagine one point somewhere in the picture (for example the far end of the street) and use that as your vanishing point. Every surface should aim at that point.
