One can always hope

Took me 27 years to try In-N-Out ans dude is right. Why the fuck is that place crowded all the time.

No, all of that resonates with me. I started in ‘97/98, so got a taste of peacetime before things went sideways. Some things are different, obviously. But all the traditions, the training, the leadership lessons, hardship deployments, the stories, the barracks urban myths, the stupid debates, are all carried forward

Right? This might have been the only thing in the whole article that I didn’t agree with Drew about, but this was a DEVASTATING error.

Old crayons smell like childhood.

Ever open a craft box and get that old crayon whiff? That’s deeply under-appreciated as bad smells go.

This whole thing has gone so far off the rails...actual questions:

I and the overwhelming majority of confirmed vets in my little circle feel that Kaepernick’s right to protest is exactly what people fought and died for.

Wow. I didn’t watch or read any news last night, this is the first I’m hearing about our dear leader blaming PR for being poor and standing in the way of a hurricane.

Not OP, just another (white) vet. I have no idea when Aces_Over_Kings served, but I’m a relatively younger vet (‘08 until medical separation in ‘12, turning 30 real soon) and every one of my friends from the service (and by extension the others they have talked to, in discussions with them) 100% absolutely support

No, I don’t think so. It is/was nice to have service recognized and respected when I returned home. Especially as I’m mindful of how poorly our Vietnam-era forebears were treated.

No, don’t be bummed. What he did was the most diplomatic and tasteful compromise I can think of.

I don’t know, he feels too big a name at this point. Bond should usually go to a guy who hasn’t made a true headline name of himself so he can slip more easily into the role. If Elba or Hiddleston were it, I wouldn’t see them as James Bond, just Idris Elba and Tom Hiddleston being cool as shit.

My husband always says he’s going to “read the news.” I don’t understand what takes a man so long to poop.

Fugazi fans are also old. Too old to fuck and reproduce properly. I’m sorry to be the one to tell you this.

“my coffee kicked in”

For the band question, my first thought was Fugazi. Most people I know who like Fugazi all seem like smart, chill people. But then I realized out of the 50 or so people I know who like Fugazi, maybe 2 of them are women. I hope they have a better fan ratio than that, this is just my personal experience.

Because in there, he cannot be bothered.

Hot take: grilling with a propane grill is just like cooking something in the oven, only outside. Use charcoal, Hank Hill. You usually don’t run-out half way through.

The thing is though, picturing recent events as the result of a white elite maintaining control over a diverse majority is a huge oversimplification of what happened last year. Let’s not forget that the traditional Republican elite couldn’t stand Trump and he had huge difficulties raising funds; the grassroots tide

Jake Plummer. No idea why. I think I just thought that he seemed really cool, and it was fun to watch a QB who seemed to give no shits about football.
