No matter where it is now, Chang started in China. It is a variant of Zhang. In Korean, it is merely one of three derivatives of the original Chinese word. Not to say that a Korean person couldn’t have the surname Chang - it’s just less likely. Jang and Zang being the other two.

This is true. It’s actually a very common thing too. People in shipping wars will also fight others, threaten them, and wish death on them for not shipping their gay ship, but in real life? LGBT rights is the furthest things from their minds. It’s disgusting and they won’t change.
