Oh yeah, so annoying. The first movie, you get the city totally, especially the chase at the end. This one, nothing in that town resembles real Chicago.

I remember Howard Stern making a line about Chevy Chase that I've heard echoed by other folks (Alec Baldwin) about a lot of former SNL people: "These guys were cool, they were hip, they were great. What happens? They make a few hit movies, they become famous and next thing you know, they've turned into the very thing

We've just gotten so used to the lines, easy to forget how effective that first movie was and influential over so many. Say what you will about his political views, when Eastwood was on in his prime, he was one scary motherfucker.

That's the best part of the character, this is a guy who could literally rule the world if he wanted to but doesn't have anywhere near the smarts or drive to do it.

It's just….you're basing Captain America's values on pop culture stuff of the present? Who thinks that in the first place?

I do admit liking when a late "Dark Reign" story has Tony basically trying to erase his mind so Osborn can't get at his secrets. It turns out he has a backup memory but it was last updated just before Civil War so we have the great bit of Tony reading over what he did, running SHIELD and such with "seriously…what the

Yeaaaah, don't really see Kilgrave the guy to broadcast "oh, yeah, I can totally control minds."

The way Busiek retcons the holy hell out of the atrocious "The Crossing" event is a thing of beauty.

The absolute best moment of the event: J. Jonah Jameson fainting dead away when he realizes he's been paying Peter Parker for years to take photos of himself.

I have never…ever….EVER…wanted to punch a writer more than Paul Jenkins in the "Frontline" tie-in when Sally Flloyd launches a speech at Cap about "When was the last time you watched the Simpsons or went on MySpace or NASCAR race? You claim you're this beacon of America but you know nothing about it."

The original idea was that Cap, naturally feeling close to the government and such, would be pro-Registration. Iron Man, having seen the effects of his technology misused by the military and fighting hard against that oversight, would be against the Act. But then Millar figured "nah, works better the other way" when

Yeah, bugs me folks act like T2 was where it debuted, Cameron was getting the bugs out beforehand.

For folks in 1989, seeing the CGI morph for the first time was absolutely mindblowing as bullet-time was for Matrix a decade later. That alone should have made it a hit.

Okay, my estimation of this half-season is now elevated when you realize the whole thing was Hades' master plan to escape the Underworld and playing everyone to get there, good work.

Recent Entertainment Weekly, their "Summer movie preview" issue.

There's a great interview with the Kings in a recent EW where they offer this gem: "All the seasons are our children but the first half of season four dropped out of college and lives over the garage with little chance of getting a job soon."

"Back then?" The current Republican front-runner thinks that's acceptable behavior for today.

I keep seeing people saying "It's known fact 25 percent of the Muslim world wants us dead." I try to point out that's over 400 million Muslims, bigger than the population of the U.S., if they wanted to rise up to destroy us, they could. Thier reply is to just shrug "Doesn't mean I'm wrong." You're right, shows that

"You make dwarf jokes, I make enuch jokes."
"I don't make dwarf jokes."
"You think them."
God, I love these two together.
