Are you really that unaware? The whole point of a hybrid over a pure electric car is that you can drive them on gas, any time, all the time, if you want. A Volt gets about 38mpg on gas alone, and holds about 10 gallons.

I’m familiar with the bumper nudge that NYC and Boston a-holes make famous. But ending with your car touching both bumpers is not parallel parking, and less a skill that just being willing to “go there” in desperation.

I learned to drive stick in the military. The Drill Sergeant called for someone who knew how to drive a stick shift, and I volunteered, even though I only knew in theory how to. Everyone assumed that drivers had an easier path through basic training and beyond, and I wanted that.

I had an Aries K. In the 80s. It was a very comfortable ride if you weren’t in a hurry to get there. There was nothing exciting about it, ever. Mine had the 2.2l engine. It always felt a little stressed, but never like it was about to fail.

To me it looks like the dealer did something specifically and explicitly prohibited by law. Breaking a larger transaction into smaller payments over time isn’t illegal but refusing to accept payment in full and insisting on time-spaced payments would definitely trigger an unpleasant inquiry, if found out.
