But aren’t most FWD cars one wheel drive, at least at a time? Without an LSD or such.

I typically replace mine every two years or so in the Spring, as preventive maintenace. I hate wipers that leave marks. I have never actually had wipers die out on me though, except on vehicles that aren’t driven regularly. Maybe the difference between cheaper ones and more expensive ones?
I’m going to say that this probably isn’t true on modern vehicles. They must be designed better. My six year old car with 475,xxx on it has always had the wipers up in the Winter, and it still clears the windshield quite well.
Every six months? Wow. I drive a lot (475, xxx in six years), and the last time I changed my blades was two years ago. They still work like new. Yours must get worn down quickly from the ice.
No way. I’ve had almost new wipers rip apart from ice when I first started driving in the Winter and didn’t know better. And a good set of wiper blades are a lot more than $5.
I’ve done over 125 MPH in my Focus, and can confirm: Not meant for that speed. Mind you, the tires that were on it at that time were not rated for that speed. Fun, though. I’m sure with more room I could have gotten more out of it, as it was still climbing. Ran out of testing room, though.
Interesting I’ve got 17×7 on my Focus, and 215/45. Trying to find some 225/40, but I can't.
The worst I’ve had was twelve hours of driving. However, I only started in the late afternoon. So I was already well into my day. Was falling asleep for the last hour, even with music blaring and windows open. Didn’t want to stop for that last little bit, but definitely should not of kept going.
Have you tried a mark 2 Focus? I have one, and they are rather great.
My Focus weighs less than the holy trinity, and even a BMW i3. ^_^
My 1996 Explorer Limited AWD 5.0 with every option available would have been over $90,000 new. To say the least, I didn’t pay that. Bought it a decade old in mint shape, that only needed an exhaust gasket replaced ($10). Still have it, still love it. Still wouldn’t have bought it new.
LoL, I don’t doubt it. Seen it on their lot, figured with all their current problems that I could scoop it up on the cheap. Then he told me the price.
My local VW dealer is trying to make as much as possible on everything. They have a ‘12 GTI that they are selling for $23,000. LoL, nope...
Have a ‘79 Thunderbird with the 302. Can confirm the HP.
I do 300 miles nonstop often enough. But that is abnormal. Over double that would be a lot, and like ten hours of driving.
Ford... Microsoft... Makes sense. The Foci already park themselves.
Yeah, not at all impressive for what looks like a lot of carbon fiber.
The Human Torch, Iron Man, and Batman are all car guys. Iron Man and Batman are the smartest. Iron Man is probably the only of the two with the inclination to play with the vehicles all the time.
$3,500 in Craigslist is $10,000 in stealership currency.
