Boss makes a dollar, I make a dime, that’s why I poop on Company Time!

can you explain the Piscopo part of this? I did some basic googling and all I could find was Joe Piscopo, who hasn’ really done much since the 80s...
ehhhh, the golden globes aren’t necessarily the best barometer for awards season. Whereas the Emmy’s, Oscars, (and Grammy’s/Tony’s) are made up and voted on by Academies that consist of professionals in the various mediums, the golden globes are created by the Hollywood Foreign Press Assoc., which is really just…
Is In The Heights one of my favorite modern musicals? Yes.
Ah, but see that was a *democratic* candidate. And Ike Perlmutter is a Trump Bootlicker, so Marvel itself will likely not do a damn thing. The Mouse, maybe.
hmmmm seems like the selections of nominations are very...what’s the word?
Fucking Burkman and the Boy Blunder.
This one’s too.
True story: my uncle had to be talked out of giving my cousin the middle name Kaitlyn by his at the time wife, because her first and last name started with a “K”. He didn’t see anything wrong with it (shocker: he’s a Trumper and racist piece of shit). Her initials were going to be KKK and he saw nothing wrong with…
I am just going to drop in to say that Nicolas Sparks is a piece of shit person. I grew up in New Bern (where he lives, and where The Notebook takes place) and I, along with family members, friends, and co-workers have all had interactions with him and his family that makes it obvious what kind of a person he really…
yaaaasssss didn’t think I’d come across that reference here of all places. The Good Reverend Doctor Juggalo Hooker, shantay, you stay.
It’s not so much that they’re getting state funding, it’s that they get rebates for working in the state. It’s an incentive to draw in productions who will in turn hire local crews and use local companies to do business with to complete production. It’s actually massively beneficial to the people/state. It’s not a…
I work on this show, and let me tell you this season is going to be fun! One of the exciting aspects of Fear is (unlike TWD) it’s not tethered to a source material, so we get to play around a bit more with themes, motifs, and nods to other genres throughout the course of the last two seasons.
re: Hairspray; 1) film, 2) musical, 3) movie musical, 4) live broadcast of musical incorporating some of the original movie musical music.
I found this last week and posted it to reddit- this is a FANTASTIC commercial, and I mean, could we please make this happen for a series?! It’s so well done, they clearly spared no expense for VFX for this, and in a short commercial showed that it could be done to give the DnD “experience” with real people vs. player…
wow, no I’d never seen either of those clips. And I was in grad school until 2016. Thank you so much for sharing these, I agree its quite sad how much has been lost to the sands of time in what wasn’t saved in some way or another to more permanent formats
There’s a deep cut. I loved the play of Hot l Baltimore, in grad school we did a design project on it (I went for scenic design), there were so many details that could be played with just in the set alone, nevermind all of the wonderful character details. I’ve only seen clips of the TV version of it, and from what I…
I’m convinced that with future Zari leaving the dragon egg with 2019 Zari, and them making it purposefully shown that she is the first thing it sees, that the time line will change a bit with Zari having raised it, and it being used as a Beebo-esque deus ex machnia against Neron.
c’mon theatre history and theory!
Yup. I work in the film industry in Austin, and while its getting better, the TX lege/Governor really screwed the pooch a while back with our film incentives, and for a bit work just dried up.
