oh I couldn’t give less of a shit about the show at all- but there are some iconique moments that get repeated a lot as response/reaction gifs- i.e. this one, and “King Curtis”, which is didn’t hurt that I grew up in the town where he was from, so making fun of it was probably regionalized too.

The Gays ™ still reference her fairly frequently- or at least they do in my social circles, referring to things as “Dark Sided” a lot.

In the episode where Nandor brings back all of his wives, it cuts to Guillermo bringing in groceries/clothes from target- and he’s on the phone with another male voice, and the voice says “I miss you” and Guillermo gets all flustered and hangs up when he sees the film crew. dang, where/when in NC? I got my license in 2003, and had to take drivers ed after school, then do a year for learner’s permit, take the written test, and the road test, then couldn’t drive between the hours of 9p-6a unless going to/from work or school activities. 

Fuck this book forever. I read it last summer just because I’d been hearing so much about it for a while. It was nothing more than hot steaming garbage. And also as someone who grew up in the exact area that book took place, it is WILDLY inaccurate in a lot of ways.
