This is the correct response.

You could just save your money and fix the VW 135k is not a super huge amount of miles. Dump some money into fixing its problems, then in a few years give it to the kid, it won’t be so yuck when it’s either this or get a job you freeloading brat and buy your own car. Then go buy yourself a midlife crisis Corvette.

Yeah, I’d expect the American automakers to lobby against this somehow. Cheap, capable small trucks could kneecap the idea that we all need their super profitable $70,000 Silverados as “work trucks.”

This simply can’t be. This is exactly how Trump is hoping his tariffs will work, which I have read on the internet, isn’t possible.

Still no

Red wheels. No.

It’s passive-aggressive driving (note that second word there) . Driving smugly in the left lane because you feel you are within the law and nobody else matters causes everyone behind you to get angry and make unwise decisions. You are absolutely the cause, don’t try to pass the blame. Plus, it’s illegal in most

the hazard is caused by driving in a lane meant for passing.

That’s fine tiger, just move over once you’re done.

Nice Price although I’d likely never buy one at any price, unless I needed a beater DD.

While I applaud his efforts, don’t they convert cars to r/c on Mythbusters all the time? I haven’t watched that show in a while, but I remember them doing it often. I know they have a ton of resources and this is just a guy doing it by himself, but still.

I kind of like the ratiness of the CJ. The Wagoneer is a prime candidate for a good restoration. Patch the holes in the floor, some new insulation and carpet, and work out the reliability issues. It MAY necessitate you thinning down your herd of cars. Which may not be a bad thing...

David, I know you like your shitboxes. And they’re lovely, quirky, and endearing shitboxes. But one day I would like to see you restore something.

That probably wouldn’t get the rock out of the bed but it might solve some other problems.

Tell the little fuckers to sprout legs and work their way up onto dry land.

They won by eating $1700 in a free option? By my math they broke even IF the dealer Doc fee was pure profit (likely was).

We tarnished the shit out of them on every review place we could, wrote out a VERY negative manufactuer survey detailing the full situation and we heard within about 60 days that the Sales Manager,

I swear they make it as complex as they can, to get people to give up and just buy the “upsell” car they want you to buy, where they package some high-demand options, some high-margin options, and charge a high margin price on the upgrade.

Back in 2004 my mother made the mistake of ordering an MK4 1.8t Jetta because the color she wanted wasn’t available. Car showed up and the sales guy calls my mom to let her know there’s been a change in price because of some upgraded suspension nonsense that made it on to the car during it’s build.

Amen. How the hell is a sunroof dependent on leather seats?

Allocation of options based on “Packages” really is an insanely stupid system. I understand that some things are bundled together due to the BCM(Body Control Module) design but for the life of me I cannot figure out why an engine choice would preclude navigation in a car. I’m looking directly at you Ford.
