It’s very hard to believe that those 3 good-ol-boys would’ve just “gone missing” what with the sketchy history of the house being known even by the police in town. The white sheriff in the police van tells Letti about body parts of black folks found in a “room below the basement” of the house. So with all the

While it doesn’t return us to the level of that perfect pilot, this week was still a return to form after the mess of episode 2. Not that it matters, every episode’s gonna get an A rating anyway, apparently.

The series is on a steady decline since the excellent pilot (which the AV Club incorrectly rated lower than the subsequent episodes)

After the Ouija board spelled out “George” is also spelled out “IS DEAD”. I took that to be the spirits in the house taunting Diana, reminding her her father is dead. As much as I want George to return as a ghost helper/guide, I don’ think this is it.  But maybe I’m wrong.

I'd definitely go more in the B range for this one, but still pretty good.

Drat, I almost had an excuse to post the “Period Sex” song from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, but it turned out Letitia was fibbing to hide that she was a virgin.

Seth Rogen was on Howard Stern recently and they got to talking about Schitt’s Creek. This is his take on Catherine O’Hara, and I just love it. He effectively said that he likes to think of himself as irreverent and pushing the boundaries of comedy, and then he watches her work in Schitt’s Creek and he says of

The book is basically a short story collection with recurring characters. I was wondering how the show was going to deal with the odd structure and, as of this episode, I’m leaning towards not too well. That was just too much for one episode. Oddly, the show added a bunch of stuff that doesn’t happen in the book

To quote Dorothy Parker:

I think I speak for everyone when I say, this was still on???

Yeah that scene where the gas station attendant was doing the monkey imitation to Tic had me mad a fuck! Ugh I wish he knocked that fucker in his face. And those stupid blonde bimbos all laughing too....made me sick to my stomach.

“Atticus and a fellow traveler choose to walk several miles back to town rather than travel with the white riders on a small truck transporting them the same distance after the bus breaks down.”

Agreed (this wasn’t my impression either and I highly doubt that they had the option of riding on the back of the truck with the other passengers). As a matter of fact, there was a scene where the bus driver assisted the white passengers with their luggage but left the black woman’s bag in the undercarriage.  It was

For some reason, people seem really hesitant to criticize Stranger Things 3 and people get really defensive about it. As evidenced by me being brought to this comment by the guy getting snippy at everyone criticizing it over a year after its release.

Personally Aidan Gallagher was my MVP for the year. Making Five the throughline this season was a smart call.

It’s because it is a horribly written show.

The guy who clonked her on the head was the Brother in Law.  She knocked him back, but not out.  He got up and knocked her out.  I agree, though, that the trope is tiredtiredtired.

I was wondering why he drove to collect Vanya. I’m sure there is a fanwank for this but I found this annoying. 90 minutes!

I liked season one but agree this season has been so much better as it got rid of some of the crutches that frustrated in season one. The biggest is they are all nominally getting along instead of the old standby of everyone hating each other irrationally and withholding information from each other for no other reason
