This finale was disappointing in my opinion. Last week ended on a very tense moment with Hoyt ordering Hays into the car. The scene ended up being underwhelming. Mr Hoyt didn’t do much other than talk, the scene just wasn’t great, not so much because of their masculinity it just didn’t really have an impact on the rest…

My assumption about the Union cluelessness is that it makes sense if we think of them as less of a completely integrated society like the Federation, but more of a loose alliance. With each world in it still pretty much on its own. More like the European Union, than the United States.
