The guy’s name is a literal anomonapea for laughter. It would be funny even if he was a pasty white tax accountant. Somehow people laugh at Benedict Cumberbatch and Dick Pound without having their motivations questioned, so I don’t see why you find anything racial here.

Ah, that does sound much more reasonable.

Clash if Clans. Damn, mobile Chrome really sucks for text entry.

Counterpoint: there’s a guy playing for the Packers named HaHa Clinton-Dix. His realname is a late night punchline from the Lewinsky scandal.

I’ve only played a little of this particular game, but if it follows the Clash if Clans model, then presumably at some point the guy who’s spent more money on in-game currency has bought an insurmountable strategic advantage. That’s basically the core principle of these mobile games and their $100 in-app purchases.

Normally I’d just chock it up to regular callous indifference to another platform, as with most Square-Enix and 2K mobile games. But Nintendo announced this at an Apple event. It’s getting huge amounts of marketing from Apple, paid or not. There’s definitely some kind of quid pro quo going on here.

“Practical constraints” don’t really apply to Nintendo’s gigantic, super-profitable properties, especially for a mobile game. And this is an endless runner - practically the simplest mobile game type short of tic-tac-toe. They didn’t choose to give iOS an exclusive for lack of time or money.

The game has an always-on connection for anti-piracy, even on iOS. Seems like that particular base is covered.

Eh, could be, but they’ve confirmed that the game is coming to Android later and that it’s an exclusive now. There’s no reason to keep it on iOS first aside from a sizeable monetary gain, and locking yourself away from (literally) a billion potential players indicates more than just a back scratch.

I’m seriously wondering how much money Apple is paying them. After the smash success of Pokemon GO, it only makes sense to start paying for console-style platform exclusives... and it would have to be quite a lot.

I dunno, the YouTube stars seem to do okay more or less ignoring the comments. Celebrity is all about one-way attention, not community.

I don’t understand why streamers allow live chat in the first place for something so toxic as the general gaming populous. I tend to avoid the competitive zones of any online game, because teammates turn vicious the minute the slightest thing goes wrong. Not that I’m some wilting flower, it just kills any enthusiasm I

Or you can roll your own keycap set over at WASD Keyboards and put ‘em on whatever mechanical keyboard you want, no cheap knock-off switches necessary.

if you mention a short skirt, I’m going to imagine having sexy legs. If you tell me about sexy legs, I’m going to put down the book and think about doing some squats.

This is a little deeper than I wanted to go into it (insert “boing” sound effect here), but my point is that men get tripped up by their own perceptions. For men, the tactile sensation of sex is almost entirely about the penis, while the visual aspect is all about the woman’s body. Flip that around, and it’s easy for

For what it’s worth, Dresden’s backstory gets explained and explored in the larger series, along with a HUGE amount of world-building. It’s actually one of the more well-realized worlds in the urban fantasy genre, warts and all. Every loose end in the first story is wrapped up by around the eighth or ninth, with new

Yes and no. As Siege said above, men tend to be primarily visual, which is why the long descriptive passage of a beautiful woman is something of a trope in fiction of all sorts. A male author putting himself in a woman’s shoes might make the mistake of applying that same primarily visual perspective to his female

It’s extremely helpful, thank you. I’ve made a note of all your suggestions.

I get what you’re talking about, and yes, the characters are more complex than I went into here. (Allow me a little generalization for brevity’s sake.) My biggest problem is Harry’s perspective on the women he meets. Every adult woman Harry encounters is immediately evaluated from a sexual angle - even Molly, who’s

I know unions aren’t always corrupt. My grandfather was a union vice president, and one of the most honest people I’ve ever known. But even with the sarcasm tag, you were being rather broad in your initial comment.
