Huh. I never realized those awful Axe commercials from the 2000s were “retro.”

I get that the dual parent-kid appeal is what most of these reboots are going for, but given the shift from an actual game show to a work of straight fiction, I can’t see this working on either audience.

Who is this for? The tone is way too young to appeal to any of the 20-and 30-somethings who watched the original, but all the references to the game show will sail right over kids’ heads.

Just a guess, but could soe of the randomness (and thus the frustration) be because the Pokemon are slowly moving on their own as you’re tracking them down?
