"Starred Up" was just an amazing film, and I absolutely hope that O'Connell continues his upward rise. I could also write paragraphs on my love for Ben Mendelsohn. "Animal Kingdom," "Killing Them Softly," "The Place Beyond the Pines," "The Dark Knight Rises." I'm ecstatic that he's finally been getting recognized here…
Yes, Ken Loach is fantastic. And speaking of works involving The Troubles and/or the IRA, I've never actually seen "Hunger." But it's come up a lot in this thread and looks fantastic, so I'm going to rectify that ASAP.
Yeah, the lackluster way he went out was pretty unfortunate. He was a good villain and very entertaining, like you said. But with villains like Mags and Quarles (plus whatever you want to describe Boyd as), Markham didn't seem especially spectacular in comparison.
Fiddle I fit as I'm feeling.
I've seen the film a few times but never owned the DVD, guess I'll have to search it out. I'd love to hear the extra on Ken Loach.
A drama series centered around The Troubles and/or the IRA would be an excellent concept. I'd be surprised if it doesn't happen within the next five years or so, actually. I can definitely see a TV series some place like FX or HBO that could tackle that historical period and really flesh out just how fascinating and…
This is one of my favorite shows. Coincidentally, also one of the best theme songs of all time. I can't wait until January.
Yarrrrrrrrr! Toby Stephens be getting a whole lot of work!
"'71" was incredible. With that, "Starred Up," and his commercial success in "Unbroken," Jack O'Connell is absolutely one of the next great stars of our time. He has such a malleable persona, but always exudes strength no matter what the role. The movie itself just told a hell of a story, no other way to put it.…
"Rogue Nation" was awesome, you won't be disappointed. And it's great to hear there's another "Rectify" fan out there. Not sure if it's my favorite since "The Americans" is still on, but it's up there. It has a message and a style all its own. Ray McKinnon is a master artist.
Saw "Rogue Nation," which was a total blast from start to finish. Wasn't a huge fan of "Ghost Protocol," but this newest iteration has certainly breathed new life into a franchise that could definitely use it. The only critiques I have are that Jeremy Renner was barely used, and that the main villain didn't really…
I just wanted to tell you good luck. We're all counting on you.
Hodor can be such a hooplehead sometimes.
McShane playing his character as a Blackbeard/Swearengen combo would be just fine by me.

"Yeah, glad I taught you that fuckin' word."
I'd like to see Ian McShane snort coke and steal some expensive jewelry.
What do you mean? I'm not at all arguing with you, I'd just like you to expand on your point a bit more if possible.
An alien race smart enough to master interstellar travel, but dumb enough to go to a planet where 90 percent of its surface is fatal to them, certainly is original!
