Nintendo is learning that the WiiU is awesome and can be used for both traditional games and games that want to use all the controllers new features. Get a WiiU, it will be worth it once the flood of games hit. It already is for just Nintendo land with friends.

My statement assumes you have a decent computer. My entire point this that you would be stupid to try a start your game dev hobby/career on X1 with no prior experience. It would be much smarter to start off on PC and learn from there.

It doesn't have a button, it touch sensitive like the newer 360s.... I won't believe believe the ad thing until you show me proof.

WHy do you need to publish and dev for X1 then? Go put it on a PC. It's free and you can use a controller. Not to mention there are established Engines and tools you can use.

You don't have to pay a dime to make a game, go grab Flash Develop, or Game Maker, learn to use those, learn to code in C++ or C#. This is an option for serious people wanting to put out games on X1. I'd gladly fork over $150 to be able to do that, if someone who isn't experience in Game Design, programming or art…

I think the big thing is that they promised new content and that it wouldn't be ported to consoles. What actually happened was it was ported to consoles with new content that the PC didn't have. When you say something like that, I can imagine being a PC customer, you would feel pretty lied to at that point in time.

It would be much easier on PC like BestInSlot said and you would hit a much wider audience. Tools like Game Maker Studio and Unity allow for quick prototyping and distribution for games.
