Your article is a little unclear about the type of suit that SpaceX is developing. Is this a flight suit (i.e. something to be worn in a pressurized environment), or a pressure suit? Yesterday evening I heard the hospital was being evacuated. Which is pretty bad since it’s on a pretty eastern part of the city when the fire started in the west.
Last update I heard (last night before bed) was that the fire had breached the city limits and a few neighbourhoods were destroyed. This is only going to get worse.
Given that the main highway runs out of the city in both directions (north and south) it’s entirely reasonable that evacuees would flee in both directions.
