And since we have our 1st kid on the way, this thing will be perfect when hanging in the nursery.
Sure, and I mainly do, except for the Max app which runs far better on my PS5 than on my TV. Though Sony may not want to push a media hub on the PS5 if they also want to release devices like this that specifically block its use; sounds like a case of muddled strategy.
Yeah, this is what confuses me as well. It’s basically solving the problem that your TV is in use by some other platform or app, which is weird because it’s almost like Sony going: “Hey, we know we won’t be the most important thing used on your TV, so why don’t you spend even more money to keep using our product?”

Disney is in a dangerous place with the cash they had to spend on Hulu, their streaming strategy, and franchise fatigue for Star Wars and now the MCU. Pushing movies back to 2025 is a smart move since they can blame it on the strike for investors while they likely do a shit ton of strategy work on their film and…
I think HOTD will prove to be an excellent show that doesn’t get nearly the cultural hype as GOT since GOT already rode that wave. Even if they didn’t shit the bed at the end, I still think it would’ve been hard for HOTD or any other in-universe show to become that hype and that’s... fine, actually. I’ve enjoyed HOTD…
I dun wan’ it.
The finale did not air on March 12, 2023. You’re thinking of... *checks notes* ...uh, The Last of Us?
I could so so hear this in Nic Cage’s voice: “When I went to the picture, it was me fighting a giant spider. I did not do that. That was not what I did.”
Fair counterpoint! I didn’t see it until a few years ago, so my window of reference is waaaayy different.
Event Horizon feels much more like a Warhammer 40k story than Lovecraft. And boy did it terrify me when I snuck in to watch it as a young teen...
I wouldn’t be shocked if he has. He’s mentioned Sonic, Fallout 76, Crash Bandicoot, Ratchet and Clank... and Dead Space. So it seems possible he’s played Alan Wake at some point or another.
Pretty hilarious as an Alan Wake and Remedy fan to be watching ITMOM just as I stumble upon this article. Great, super fun horror movie that mixes a unique premise with some lovingly campy acting and, of course, Carpenter’s directing style.
I thought Usher was trying to do something else—more of a campy Twilight Zone-y anthology, mixed with a Succession/Knives Out/Purdue style critique of late stage capitalism, and that worked for me. I really liked MM but I was also raised Catholic; I wonder how people who were further from that upbringing connected…
Huh. I like MM but there are *so* many Flanalogues in there. I feel like I have PTSD from them, now where if a character starts speaking and the camera begins to punch in, I get terrified that I’m in for a two minute speech.
I can’t believe Netflix let Flanagan go, though good on him for getting a better deal over at Prime. IMO Netflix made a huge mistake not releasing his shows on a weekly basis, 2 episodes a week throughout end of September/October. With the current resurgence in weekly TV chatter, there could’ve been a huge buzz built…
