All I want is to be given some options on how to play. As beautiful as Sekiro was, its singular focus on a specific type of combat which I am absolutely terrible at made it so that I eventually just gave up. I get that different Souls-y games have different shticks, but I’d much prefer variations like with Bloodborne

That brings up an interesting question: Is what limits the playerbase for narrative games the budget?

The exception may be hardware that does something more than show games and have a basic input method (controller), which is in some ways Nintendo’s recent wheelhouse. If you need to own a piece of hardware to get a certain experience, then it creates an option to pull away from the box-less streaming set--unless of

I’m not sure it’s as easy a jump as Sony thinks it is. Consider that MS has an entire very successful cloud infrastructure business which they can learn from for their gaming streaming and Sony doesn’t have anything comparable, to my knowledge.

I’ve heard the point about CYOA + narrative games and their foray into Bandersnatch, but it just doesn’t seem like a big enough of a genre to be worth the investment, though who knows. I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to the option for free though I doubt I’d pay for it.

Very true--I was sort of talking about this gen but it’s really not fair to say that yet. I really enjoyed my 360 and its line-up (and boy do I wish the Xbone had more stuff for it not on PS4).

Well, you’re obviously out of the loop: https://www.polygon.com/22447410/netflix-executive-games-expansion-the-information-report

Sure, but if Microsoft obtains a larger reach or install base via streaming/console-less gaming, they will increasingly have more leverage to woo developers into giving them exclusives, which will put pressure on Sony to keep up title-wise. Considering library has been one of Sony’s major differentiators, if they lose

Good for Microsoft. Personally I’ve found the Xbox libraries lacking the last gen or two, but I am impressed with how they’ve been doing the slow march towards this kind of cross-device, console-less ecosystem, no doubt driven on by a few internal champions thinking long-term rather than short-term.

Looks like Reality TV’s is back on the menu, boys!

...bang.

Even the original phrase for futa--futanari--is relatively benign and means “dual form”. But yeah, in this case it’s a totally different word that sounds the same (pretty common in Japanese)

Wait until bunkey makes a video about this...

Didn’t think I could hate the RE8 baby even more. I was wrong, so horribly, horribly wrong.

From the clerk’s perspective: “u ka ta ta?”

While I’m glad I got (and have) a PS5, I generally agree with this. There’s nothing that is an absolute must have on the system yet, though as someone who never upgraded to a PS4 Pro, it’s been nice to have something that performs better.

This is so me. Some 20 years ago or so, I decided to commit to running to conquer a thing I hated. I started slow and built up strength over time, but I never, ever liked it. I liked finishing it and certainly liked the weight I lost from it, but the actual act of running never felt enjoyable or good to me.

No worries, if anything this might be a good reason to push and get ‘er done sooner rather than later. Though I think hinting at that reveal (and maybe they did) would’ve given the very “four lords” structure a more cohesive feel. Then again, I sort of feel like this could’ve been an entirely different franchise and

did you finish the game?

This is pretty much where I am too and my momentum has stalled out. The setting could be interesting, but the combat has gotten a bit sleepy in general by this point and these soldats are just gimmicky “shoot the weak point” bullet sponges that make me wish for it to all be over already.
