I was more commenting on the claim that there was nothing like this - I agree it’s basically an entire subgenre, so I thought the description was weird and worth a bit of a quip.

Then why set it during a specific time in a real war ... Why not just make something up if you aren't going to talk about the entire setup.. if there is no message then say it's fantasy and use fake names of things.
