There’s never been a game I’ve wanted to play so much before, and yet not wanted to play so much before. I’m almost positive once I get a handle on it I’ll absolutely love it, but boy is it dense and confusing..

I would absolutely love to explore Wakanda as well, with the different tribes having distinct feels and quest lines. Such interesting world building with a lot to dive into.
Quick disclaimer: I do think it’s remarkable what they’ve done with updates and honestly feel at this point they’d be in the right to charge for them. So congratulations to the team.
So glad Chomet is on this list. Easily my favorite animation director. The Illusionist is a masterpiece. (Amazing soundtrack as well if you just want to listen to something)
I couldn’t agree more. I coompletely understand finding RDR2 too tedious or slow paced, but the entirety of the world and attention to detail and amazing animation and lighting made my immersion in that game unlike any other open world experience I’ve had. Having the actions animated, like cutting herbs or skinning…
The “on-call” practice is the worst. I haven’t worked fast food but I had it in retail, and it basically means you can’t plan anything for the day cause you don’t know if you’ll be working or not.
Haha Yeah kind of scary looking. Wish they went either full Mario, and just gave him his exact face with a mask, or made it more of an obvious costume that you could wear. (with the clothes and just the fake mustache). Right now it’s an odd middle ground.
Love this podcast! And anyone who loves this should definitely check out radiolab.
I definitely agree that the effort towards quantity over quality, for filler and more gameplay hours, hurts a game. And I agree that the farcry’s and assassin’s creed’s of the world are good examples of this problem. But I disagree that last gen downloadable/indie games were overall better. I think it’s easy to make…
I believe the same “hype” that leads so many to be disappointed, has also led to many people over-philosophizing and analyzing this game for what it is. It’s a procedural tech demo with a skinner box resource collection and upgrade mechanic.
Sometimes I feel like Sean Murray uses the excuse of player discovery to remain perpetually vague, and oversell the game without overselling the game.
Exactly. I don’t work in games, but in animation, and a producer that has an idea of the actual process of the craft is so nice to work with.
Everyone is jumping on him for being insensitive, but is it not insensitive to ignore that suicide could have had a strong effect on him personally and that he is reacting emotionally? I don’t see someone being a jerk, I see someone being triggered live on air by a subject matter that is very potent to them.
I don’t honestly understand the point you’re trying to make. By your argument someone could make a game where you start up and then press a button to win, cause come on man, all games are is pressing buttons.
