Played the Spurs in the 2007 NBA finals and got swept. Tim Duncan at age 31 probably still better than any PF that MJ faced off against, not to mention Manu and TP were 30 and 25 respectively. I was just saying those 3 Spurs and 3 Warriors teams are better than any team MJ had played in the finals. Mavs & Thunder I’m…
I’m going to go out on a limb and say
I think the front office problem is that there don’t appear to be any opposing views on how the club should be run. Stan’s a clueless, cheap fuck who sees the club as an asset and nothing more. Arsene is loyal, to players and the board, to a fault, all the while being more enamoured with financial stability than he…
Sitting Oubre the entire game made no sense, he was one of their best players in Boston in game 5. Are you worried that the kid who played well with every fan in the arena chanting “fuck you Oubre” was going to be rattled in a game 7?
Good for LA, it would be nice if Game 6 got him going and we got a few good games in the conference finals. I think the W’s will take the series in 5 but the Mike Brown vs. Pop matchup might swing them an additional game they wouldn’t get with Kerr in there.
Important to remember that Doc has killed this team from a draft & trading stand point. I can’t think of a successful trade they’ve had. Once Boston lost Pierce, Garnett & Co. he bolted pretty quickly, and I wouldn’t be surprised if something similar happens should Blake and/or CP not resign (though I think both will).
Lombardi spends the first third of that article talking about how “rounds don’t matter, we’re looking for day one players!”
Still a step down from his predecessor Chuck Swirsky
In Vivek’s defense, Hinkie’s 76ers looked like they were playing 4 on 5 most of the time.
Is this going to be the best Eastern Conference playoffs since LeBron’s first two years in Miami? Bucks-Cavs could be fun in the first round, Raps-Cavs (with Ibaka & a rested Kyle Lowry) would be a better series than last year, and oh man I want 7 games of bad blood between Washington and Boston.
Would Steph get cheered if, after theoretically losing to the Cavs in the finals this year, he somehow signed with Cleveland this summer? It’s not a perfect parallel given there’s more animosity between Cavs-W’s than there was Thunder-W’s, but I think a big part of the KD hatrid is he went to their direct rival after…
That 2010-2011 season... Oof. The FA Cup loss to Man U, the fucking Cup Final loss to Birmigham City (still the most ‘classic Arsenal’ performance I can remember). Could 06-07 be worse than that?
Kroenke, the Board, Arsene, it would be nice if they had some ambition for once. The stadium debt was a reasonable excuse for those years, but when the club is paying Walcott 140K a week, charging the highest prices in the PL and gawking at their best players wanting to be paid on par with their value I really can’t…
You say don’t split down the line, but Jimmy Buss prefers the term ‘don’t split up that line!’
Not a cap/contract guru but wouldn’t that mean they’d have to come to an agreement on a long term contract in October 2017? Seems the better decision would be to exercise the 4th year option and see if he can stay healthy in the 2017-2018 season instead of giving him a long term deal off of the 1/2 season of…
Was just going to comment about this! Going to be an interesting restricted free agency. Phoenix used to always be praised for how good their medical staff was, if that’s still the case I’d like to see them go for broke and throw a big offer sheet at him... but I still expect Philly to match anything.
Please someone keep Andrew Bogut away from Joel Embiid.
Rookies are notoriously bad at defence, and considering Buddy’s job in college was just score it doesn’t surprise me he sucks on that end right now. To think he’s not going to improve defensively and turn into the 1 dimensional catch and shoot player Morrow is (averages 0.8 drives per game compared to Buddy’s 2.3)…
I’m no Buddy fan (I’ll take Jamal Murray over him any day) but best case scenario Anthony Morrow is a bit harsh. Morrow can shoot the shit out of the ball, but you can count on one hand how many dribbles he has per game, and his defence is bad enough that on a team that has a colossal lack of shooting he only plays 16…
