Let’s hold off on idea of Alvin Gentry being an offensive minded genius. That New Orleans team was injury riddled, but their offense was a dumpster fire and Gentry put out some pitiful lineups. He should be paying royalties to Nash & Curry for getting him that job.

I’m guessing it was a little bit of both “Daaaaaaad, don’t let Jeanie have control, look at my Real GM franchise!”

That’s how Jimmie Buss got his current gig

If I’m Cleveland I think G State’s offence scares me more than San Antonio’s defence... I’d also prefer playing the team I beat once this season (by 15 most recently) instead of the one who we haven’t beaten in the last 5 tries.

Miami-Charlotte being tied is big as well. Miami is the only team I think actually has a chance to beat the Cavs out east (though LeBron staring down Kyrie each time Lowry beats him for a bucket would be so enjoyable for me).

Nothing like paying $34 million guaranteed to two quarterbacks that, if everything pans out, will be 2nd and 3rd string by 2017.

Todd Gurley isn’t a marketable star?

Cop would’ve driven up the road 100 yards ahead of her and got out before he did that. Use the old “SHE WAS RUNNING AT ME!” defense.

Good to see the Blazers and Celtics setting themselves up for the future the same way - making trades with Billy King.

A few things:

I understand the “new manager will sign former player” angle (Klopp - Gotze, Ibra - Mourinho, Redknapp - Crouch/Kranjcar), but my understanding was Messi/Guardiola aren’t that close? I thought he said last year that they don’t talk to each other?

Yeah Alex Hleb, Thomas Vermaelen and Alex Song thought the same thing. Turan is better than any of they were, but if Pogba ends up at Barcelona he’ll be getting paid for the same view those 3 had (and he kinda is already).

I was thinking he’s the guy who calls next but doesn’t have anyone to run with. Ends up picking up the 60 year-old guy and a 12 year-old to round out his 3.

I’d be fine with Boogie being the only true center and then going with Aldridge over Drummond, but that’s assuming Marc Gasol is going to sit the Olympics out after his injury. Can’t really think of any other bigs that would cause LA trouble should Boogie get in foul trouble...

On top of that - why was he on the Team USA for the Rising Stars Challenge?

“4th place is a dream”

Really? Arsenal.com transcript didn’t mention that, but if it’s the case then pretty safe to assume he’s out for the weekend at least. I’m fine with Chambers getting the time at CB, would be nice to start seeing if he’s a good enough replacement for when Per moves along in a couple years.

their best central midfielder

I can’t stop laughing at how he runs towards the basket at the end.

I agree with that. The Welbeck signing was short sighted, Giroud and Walcott have 6 weeks a season where they look useful and they spend the rest of the season trying to regain that form.
