I test drove an older Focus with a 6mt and the 1.0EB, and it was sloooooooooow. But I found the engine super smooth in its power delivery. I really just think that engine needs a manual to make best use of it.

Know what’s a really fun way to shift? Give it a bit to much power with the VDC off and lose traction unexpectedly, hydroplane, panic and slam the clutch in, then dump the clutch. I’m pretty anti-social and found this as a great way of making new friends in the form of two parked cars.
