I’ve had a similar experience in a 1.0 EB manual Focus I had once as a hire car while the work van was in for a service. As the fuel economy and wear/tear wasn’t mine to worry about, driving it at full throttle everywhere was actually pretty good fun.

To be honest I’m surprised they even bothered with an update considering they’ve got the Arteon now.

Had a short term rental van for two weeks for work when I picked a fight with a bollard with my (fairly abused) long term company lease van. Apart from having no speed limiter (I was the envy of everyone else at work) I might’ve taken it off-roading a bit too hard down some of the railway sidings we usually frequent.

Yes but what about the Muslims?

As a British person with a conscience, Daily Mail as a news source? Eww.

Good thinking. I’ll give it a go but I’m sure it’ll just fuck with my head when I get back in the usual car mind.

Forgot a gear option on slow down! Of course always go for neutral + handbrake if stationary but leave the brake pedal on (for brake lights) until the car behind has stopped/looks like it’ll stop too.

Gives me confidence to try get a fair few more years out of it, thanks for that. Lovely handling car.

I’d agree 1st to 4th is getting a bit silly. Second to 4th is common but I find 1st is way too short to get a decent pull in 4th without sounding like a nutter on the throttle when in 1st. Especially on a 6-speed where 1st is screaming at 10mph and even on torquey diesels.

I like to (sometimes attempt) heel-toe often as well. The Alfa 147 I’ve got is ideal for this but the work van (Vauxhall Combo - See Fiat Doblo) has too big a pedal stroke gap between the brake and throttle to actually get enough heel in to rev match properly so it just doesn’t work in such a vehicle. Then again it’s

Chalk me up for another 147 owner with zero issues too. Only parts I’ve replaced are service interval really. Hasn’t skipped a beat since I bought it. I’d definitely consider buying a newer Alfa once I’ve finished running this one into the ground.

You know what, here here. My 147 1.6TS has a very simple VVT system which makes the engine sound and pull far better at and above 4500rpm but if I actually hit those revs with anyone else in the car they tell me to calm down or stop driving so aggressively. Screw you people, it makes me smile!

As an Alfa fan I’m assuming you know much about this 😊. It’s why I have a work van and my personal car is one of the more ‘interesting’ varieties.

I want one, I just can’t afford one. I’ll just keep rocking my 10-year old 147 instead.

It’s nice that a console game is doing this. I don’t remember a single race on Forza 4 where I spent time being punted off by retards yet I will always remember a fantastic race I had in a Ford RS500 vs a guy in a NASCAR type machine where we spent half a race at Hockenheim side by side, my cars superior cornering

Hah, the same Nigel Farage that attended just one out of a possible 42 EU Fishing Committee meetings when he was a member.

I like the idea. Driving a slow car fast is always a hoot.

Having said that, the Su-47 is nigh on the size of the Su-27 which is a monster of an airframe when you consider it’s a tech demo fighter.

How apt the front version is in white. I can even zoom in for that authentic tailgating mirror experience.

Getting a vibe of Infiniti.
