I’ve posted this comparison elsewhere, but don’t forget the horrendous cargo area. I almost considered one vs. my XC70, but the rear suspension intrusion was ridiculous:

I have long defended the concept of the Crosstour, but I can not defend the final execution of it.

I recently learned this fact from the comments section here. I keep seeing it pop up more and more. It’s funny how common certain misconceptions are.

Front visibility was awful, too. I saw in one at an auto show and couldn’t see where the front of the car ended. It was the same with the Civics at that time as well. You could see the wipers and then the hood would curve away into an abyss.

Yet the door seams are still more uniform than a Tesla.

For a usable project, it’s not half bad. The doors are crime against classic car, but mendable. And if it’s pretty much othervise stock and rust free, I would say it’s a steal.

My favorite are the people who claim to be libertarians because they don’t want to call themselves the forbidden R-word (Republican) meanwhile they spout the exact same garbage that the Republicans do, but somehow pretending it’s a different political wing makes it okay?

Guess what. The pre requirement of needing a “hustle” culture is that jobs don’t pay you enough to live normally.

Ah yes, I want nothing more than for my car to be assembled by an over-worked, sleep deprived technician.

I dunked on the 80s cars. But yes, there are exceptions to “all 80s cars are crap” (And I’ll still stand by my statement since I used the term “ALMOST” in there.)

Don’t leave out Honda. The 80s was a golden era for Honda. I’d also say the 80s at its worst was better than the post-1972 70s.

The 80s were a transitional time as manufacturers learned new technology and the US began emerging from the malaise era. So you have a mix of both very bad and very good, sometimes with different versions of the same car. A US market Escort was crap but its UK counterpart could be very good, similarly an Opel Ascona

Yep - exactly. The 80s were also a fairly big time for Porsche as well - with the 911 3.2, the 930, the 924 and the 944.

If I had the money laying around for this - i would rather buy 4 million people any size soft drink at McDonalds

Every time.

I learned to drive on a farm in rural Australia in a 1996 Hilux 4x4 with a NA diesel engine (I forget if it was 3.0 or 3.2L) - not unlike the one pictured below. I was maybe 9 or 10 at the time (farm kids, lol); but I have three memories of that thing:

Base Yaris... circa... 2012? 13? Pre-Mazda infusion, at least. It did make the car better to drive, mind you (keep the revs up to manage DC traffic!), but the throw was similar to my Wrangler, it was just as vague, and if possible, even more rubbery.

Oh yeah… the thermostat issue which was often actually a thermostat housing issue.. and it was a good idea to replace the housing along with the thermostat at the same time

Ya, it’s someone’s onanizing concept; nothing more 260Z than laying claim to formerly being one. The “patriot”-izing scheme has long since crossed the finish line for practically requiring social derision. Seriously, a lot of people have an unhealthy obsession with flying the country’s flag and colors any chance they

I know... I had two of them... a 1991 four door hatch and a 1995 Wagon... both LX models with the asthmatic 1.9L.
