    Mine will forever be stancing.

...The crux of my beef with HUDs is that I don’t believe in multitasking behind the wheel. Despite what anyone claims, and I’m sure people are already commenting they’re aces at it,..

Yup - it’s refinery switchover time, which means supply is constrained, and refineries are going offline for maintenance and changing their production profile to meet the coming driving season.

Absolutely. Where I live, jacked-up brodozer trucks seem to be the fashion accessory of choice among the urban cowboy crowd.

It’s approaching 25 years old ... and old Audis are always a bit of a crapshoot - but then again, any car at 25 is going to be long on bizarre issues.

There were also rumours of that same program affecting MB’s quality at the time.

Neutral: I zoned out on diesel after a trip to Buenos Aires in the 90s. The air there (ironically) was chock full of diesel fumes, and that convinced me that even with mitigation measures, diesel is best left to the handful of applications where it is mechanically advantageous - heavy work vehicles.

    The 460 / 4bbl was exceedingly thirsty.

The car itself is a piece of memorabilia from my childhood. These used to be everywhere. Like anything “full size” out of the 70s, these things were godawful handling experiences to drive ... and if you opened the throttle up fully, the gas gauge seemed to move towards E all by itself.

So, in a company that employs some 40,000 employees, he’s just going to terminate all the contractors without having a clue what gaps they’re filling, the reasons they are present or the terms of their contracts?

I give it NP (but only barely). The price is about $2K higher than I’d like. On the other hand, there were never many of these on the road (I actually saw more of the Buick Roadmasters than these), and this one looks like it’s in the kind of shape that a couple of $ of repairs would return it to fairly usable daily

2nd Gear: ... and Musk drives himself square into the Trump lane.

I apologize - I misquoted: he said in Q3 (so in 2 quarters)

Buying companies to solve business problems you don’t understand has a nasty tendency to fail.

1 quarter’s profits does not a pattern make. Frankly, I’d like to see a lot more skepticism for these “disruptor” companies.

1st Gear: Tesla is burning money at a horrendous rate - is old news. What is news is that the investment world is finally waking up to this reality and starting to ask pointed questions.

12-16 months from now? So much for Musk’s bold foolish “we’re going to be profitable by the end of Q2 2018" prediction.

    a) Don’t make this personal - it won’t go well for you.

Okay - you obviously think that all problems can blamed on union workers.

“Easy to achieve” ... yeah ... no.
