I work for a motorcycle parts manufacturer/supplier that sells direct to multiple online resellers with similar business models to BikeBandit. Although we never dealt with BikeBandit, this is basically how most of these kinds of sites operate:
1. Advertise everything from every brand on your website, and imply that

When after a 14yr break in motorcycle riding I returned, they were a decent go to for parts.  Bunch of stock parts for my now gone, Triumph Trophy were easily and quickly had.  Eventually I discovered Revzilla/Cycle Gear for most everything else especially as Revzilla did great product reviews.  Sucks people got

$23 million in revenue in 2020, dropping to $7.7 million in 2021

That’s super fishy considering how the rest of the automotive/powersports/enthusiast market was straight up booming unless California govt put a full on choke hold on their business last year.

The dealership model has a lot of hidden incentives for money to be made. Invoice price really means nothing. They get kickbacks from the manufacturer, lender, Gap, Extended Warranty, even SiriusXM.

EVs don’t have to be the push, nor will they make a substantial change.

The that’s-not-a-coupe argument is well-documented. But that Euro spec body style IS NOT A SHOOTING BRAKE. That’s wagon (or estate, if you insist.).

“Hey I just got a chicken, what should we name her?”

I’d say don’t buy a car unless you have absolutely no alternative at all. Fix the one you have. Put up with the one you have. Walk. Uber. Whatever.

I saw 2 American flags strapped flapping behind a tractor trailer.... they were both ripped a part, so dirty from the soot from the road and truck. Barely holding on to the pole it was strapped to. So sad. The American flag should never look like that. It was somewhat symbolic of these people who claim to love this

B/c $30k just bought an asset that can be sold/traded/insured/collateralized etc as the owner wishes, and the car is guaranteed to be a car no matter what the markets or government does. There is value in security and lower liability, and some chose that over leverage.

Holy shit, the Venn diagram of people who wear Oakleys around their neck and who are actually cool and badass now has an overlap of one person.

I would love, just once, when these abjectly stupid arguments are presented, for a journalist or judge or whoever to just take a moment of silence, take a deep breath, and ask the person, “Do you think I’m stupid?”

or i can spend that much free time at work and earn $4,000 more dollars and not have to haggle or bother anybody. that sounds exhausting. Saving $4,000 is no small amount but with that many days/hours invested your really just trading your time and time=money.

When you’ve had to install anti-sucide measures at your workplace, your position in the Worker Suicide Rankings isn’t really the part you want to focus on.

Awesome that you got a deal you were happy with, but that sounds like too much driving around and wasted time for my tastes. I am with MX5-Nut. If they aren’t willing to provide a quote over e-mail or at least phone, then I have no interest in doing business. I won’t even leave my office until I have a quote in hand.

You’re scolding people for spending their money on things that make them happy, projecting the ugliest motivations on them and all because you’re salty cars are expensive. Why do you even care, since you have all the self restraint and will just wait for prices to drop? It doesn’t affect you.

Lots of people are trading in their old cars at inflated prices to more or less offset the increased transaction price. Dealers are happy to oblige, because they’re making a sale above MSRP, and then have another used car on the lot to sell for easy profit.

I get the same mileage in my Cruze appliance, but I travel in a climate controlled environment.
