The reveal video showed a nice blue and mustardy yellow. Actual ID.4 colors you can pre-order: metallic white, 2 grays, metallic black. Seriously?

Does it actually use the parking brake for hill hold? I thought most cars maintain brake pressure. That has the advantage of using all four brakes and being more responsive than a parking brake.
I have a friend who is chair of his department at his university. He describes the environment as “Lord of the Flies”. :)
This letter made me smile. As you note, last-person-standing work competition is not a universal condition. I work with a great team of about a dozen people who largely just want to get it done. We have a big impact in our tiny niche of the world. We are doubly fortunate that our work is recognized and supported all…
Two of my friends have owned 8 M3s between them (E30, 2 E36, 2 e46, 1 E90, 2 F80). One still has his E36 for autox, the other has an F80 that he absolutely loves. E39 and E60 M5s along the way too. Desire either of them has for the new M3: zero.
My e-golf needed a handful of tire rotations in the 3.5 years I leased it. That’s it. Not one single other bit of maintenance. It was pretty awesome.
I love those things and they have come in very handy for leftovers from all the home cooking. We’ve really only do takeout once/week but, like you, now have plenty of them in various shapes and sizes.
Not kidding - I showed the site to my ELEVEN year old daughter, who has started showing a tiny interest in some cars (big 911 fan), hoping to set the stage for a 5-years-in-the-future daddy-daughter project. Sadly, hard pass at this time.
Holy crap! He does Audis now? Paraphrasing another poster: thing I never knew existed that I now covet.
Way back when, there was a bonkers WERA class, Formula USA. Rules were something like “must have two wheels”. People brought out all kinds of crazy stuff. I recall Kurt Hall, who raced - and won on - a crazy Suzuki GSXR they called the “Methanol Monster”, saying how hard it was to actually go faster on it than on a…
Yes to all those things but mostly (for me, I think) portion sizes. I didn’t eat terribly previously but my breakfast/lunch portion sizes were “whatever was handed to me”.
That’s awesome.
Exactly. The last time I had to change a flat on the side of the road was 1993 and it wouldn’t have happened if I had not kept driving on a tire I knew had a slow leak.
‘94 Probe GT owner checking in. My first new car. I think it was 164hp. I remember a co-worker commenting on the ‘huge’ 225/50-16s.
It is standardized. Nearly every EV save Tesla* use the SAE CCS standard, which combines the J1722 plug (used by everyone - Tesla provides an adapter) for AC charging with two extra pins for high powered direct DC charging.
I’ve rented a few too. Fantastic fuel economy too, for such a big car.
Same. We’re in a bit of a lull the past few weeks but I’ve been seeing a number of friends for early AM bike rides and my wife runs (and has started doing an outdoor gym class) with her friends. Several of the guys I see were commuting to Manhattan. Their quality of life has actually gone way up for now, though I…
Oh damn... That’s nice. Consult an engineer of course but some part of the ceiling could always be raised in the future and still maintain lots of storage.
1400! Ken Block could film a video in there.
Wow. I had no idea! Another rathole to jump down. :)
