The $250k 6.0 SE and the Rob Dahm car are not the same. Further, Rob's car has now been crashed and its value suffers accordingly. A quick Google netted a $160k '01 yellow/black w/26k miles, new tires, lots of service records from a Lamborghini shop, etc. at Cats Exotics, a dealer in WA who moves a lot of

That ebay link is to a 6.0 SE. Definitely not the same thing as far as the market is concerned.

I'm forced to agree with you. As you alluded to, whenever I see a car set up "stanced", the damn thing is going so slow to avoid becoming a roadside garage sale of torn off body parts, the unsafe modifications just don't come into play.

Touring (it was right there :) ). I worry a little that the DP will make it a little too loud for me but we'll see.

Hah. It's my family truckster. I considered all kinds of ill-conceived modifications but finally decided it gets an exhaust (EuroSport Touring cat back installed, waiting on the down pipe) and That's It!

Ah, you had a P1. I have a P2. The IPD Softloader is an OBDII device. It's $900.

As the current owner of an '04 V70R w/manual trans, I'm not so sure I agree with the S60R. I love my wagon because it's kinda cool, is unstoppable in the snow, and I can put a bunch of crap in it but let's face it, 300hp & 3700lbs (~3500 for the 60?) is just not high performance these days. Any theoretical launch

There certainly ARE OBDII flash tuners for the Volvos. Now, as to the suitability of boosting the hell out of those blocks...

I was going to post exactly that. The real bottom feeders set the down payment to about what they have in the car. ANY payments are gravy.

Yes, they bundle these loans and manage to get a good enough rating that big institutions can buy them. It's in the source article.

Random trivia: The final edition of the 2.2L 4 cylinder Esprit made 300hp but barely enough torque at low rpm to keep itself running. :) I have a steep driveway with a tight turn and my S4s would crawl up the hill at idle with the throttle wide open. After a change of cam timing, it was able to at least accelerate

You have to be at positive pressure for better economy. The efficiency gains come from the turbocharger transferring exhaust energy back to the intake. An ecoboost truck will show positive boost cruising at highway speeds.

I gather car salesmen can see a nice watch from any corner of a dealership.

FWIW, batteries have a ton of mass - they take a long time to heat up. The power reduction you experienced is driven by an algorithm, not an actual sensor detecting overheating, and is to protect the motor.

Since I'm always willing to beat a dead horse, the difference between "almost 30" and 34 is tremendous and even 29 for 50k in still air puts one firmly in the "elite" category. Your friends are very fast. That kind of pace wins state championships.

At the risk of being "that guy" (perhaps too late!) 34 miles is actually longer than the typical TT in the Tour. He sure didn't look like he was "giving it hell" at any point and he was SMILING at the end. 34mph is f.a.s.t. for nearly an hour. Near as I can tell, the hour record for a non-streamliner is ~35.

If he actually did it in 55min as claimed, that's about 34mph. Even 34 seems really high to me. It's right around the fastest speed ever recorded for a Tour de France time trial.

Hahahah! That was me. $26k worth of receipts for an 18 month period came with my 360. It was perfectly reliable for 3 years. Unfortunately, I've owned it for nearly 4 years now. :)

When working hard over a bumpy road, the dampers are perhaps 100 to 125 degrees.

"Only" most of those cars are his. :) That was a car show in Red Bank, NJ sponsored by Fux and supporting his foundation.
