Watching this trailer made 13 year old me surface back to my modern self and made me want to cry out in joy. I mean Jared Harris and Lee Pace bringing one of the most seminal science fiction works by Isaac Asimov in the 20th century to television in 2021? I never thought I’d see Foundation adapted on the screen.
I’d add showing a dead baby and removing eye stitching was pretty unusual.
This was a gritty, beautifully shot 1930s period piece, and in some instances much gorier than I expected, even knowing this was not going to be the Raymond Burr series I watched episodes of in syndication at my grandparents home when I was a tyke.
