Shit top: great show! Ashish used ALL BLACK MODELS, seriously ALL! — sound the trumpets! — in this show, so go him. Filed under 'black excellence', I've been told ... Joy.

"The other models worked so hard to get a spot on the runway and didn't think it was fair that she was there"
Her and hair and clothes were just perfection. I never, ever got 80s hair like that. It never happened. No matter how hard I tried, I could never get the bangs or sides to do that. my hair was best suited for the late 70s Sissy Spacek middle-part style. I did quite well in the early 2000s with the Jennifer Aniston…
LOL! I recall when StePfanie Kramer married Mark Richards here in Denver. She imported all of her hair/makeup/lighting people from Hollywood and the lighting took such a long time to get adjusted to her liking that 90% of the guests were absolutely shit-faced by the time she managed to wander down the staircase. …
Hunter! I used to love that show when I was ... um, younger. Dee Dee McCall 4 Ever.
I'm so happy for her. DTWOF was a lifeline for me in the early 1990s when I was figuring out my sexuality. Those characters were my community.
Excellent! I'll use this as an excuse to poke around in a really neat-looking graphic novel shop I've been meaning to explore. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. :)
Thanks for the great advice! Much appreciated!
A good merkin reference never fails to make me laugh.
The entirety of Dykes to Watch Out For was up online for a long while, so you might do some googling and see if you can find an archive. Beyond that just head to your comic book shop/book store and pick up a copy of either of her graphic novels. They are both excellent.
DTWOF is where I learned to keep my fingernails cut if I didn't want to advertise that I'd been single a long time.
Right there with you. If you had told 22 year old me that she would be this well known and respected outside of queer circles I never would have believed you.
Congratulations, Alison! I've been a fan since I started reading Dykes to Watch Out For almost 30 years ago!!!!!
Hey, where the hell's my genius grant?
