The problem is precisely that, regardless of how much one cares about a W3 remaster specifically, this seems indicative of Blizzard’s future work. I suspect that’s part of the reason so many people are so angry - they’re finally seeing Activision peeking out from underneath their Blizzard skin.

My dad dealt with a lot of racism growing up and while I’ve had an easier time of it, I’ve got my share of problems too. I just get tired of my people getting treated like fragile porcelain by white dudes who want to feel woke. The word savage isn’t gonna hurt us. Institutionalized racism hurts us. Police hurt us.

But here’s the thing. If a person finds a word offensive, apologize and stop using it. For 99.99% of the population, savage is a word with no baggage. We need to stop saying “you can’t say X because I can imagine a specific scenario in which a person might find X offensive under certain circumstances.”
We don’t need to

One of the elements that was always going to hold it back was that, unlike Starcraft, Warcraft 3 was designed with an excellent art style that kinda made it timeless, regardless of graphical intensity.

Blizzard hasn’t had a soul since Chris Metzen left. His care and creativity were evident in everything that they did.

Normally I would agree, but considering they advertised it as being more than just a graphical upgrade, showed off stuff that was more than a graphical upgrade, and then didn't actually deliver on that stuff, I think criticism is warranted here.

I agree that gamer “outrage” can be pretty tiresome sometimes.  That said, these seem like legitimate criticisms that are relevant to a purchase decision.  If they delivered less than they promised, consumers should be informed.

Unpopular opinion, but if Blizzard's new products are more Overwatch and Hearthstone crap, I'm happy with them revisiting their old properties

Well you’re throwing the baby out with the bathwater here and this article isn't "gamer outrage," it's level-headed criticism of a product

I think the problem is mostly how they advertised it in a way (look at that super cool cutscene...) and in the end the game has... Generic animations... Plus, it’s pretty expensive for what it offers. I’m probably gonna dust off the original game instead. There is much better games I can get for that price tag. The

I don’t hate it, but my very first impression was that it looks like a 2002 game remastered in 2012, not 2020. It’s a minor update, and the new main menu is very confusing. No save button in settings, no way to quit from the main menu without opening the options menu, some sort of live chatroom forced over every menu

The price they were charging seemed a bit outrageous.  They should have an upgrade cost for the people that own the originals.

“Crunch is a failure in management. They didn’t adequately plan enough time for a realistic scope and now they’re making the workers grind their health and life into dust so that our pixels look pretty enough.”

Fans can wait. Investors cannot.

“...and any whiny nerd who says it is worth it needs to get shoved into a locker and bullied.”

....

Anyway, did you read the article? It’s not about anyone learning to wait longer. Hell, did you read the headline?

Nothing in this particular article states what exactly the crunch conditions are for CDPR for the next 6 months, other than they will be working overtime.

Being “rewarded” with a chance to win gifts from a raffle system where tickets are “paid” via mandatory extra hours is the premise of a Black Mirror episode that has yet to be written.

So they put a 2 on it so they could sell it for $40-$60, but it’s really just a $15 expac with a graphics refresh at best? That’s what I’m getting from everything I’ve read so far. I’m normally pretty chill with OW’s direction but this is the most blatant Blizz cash grab since the real money AH that launched with D3.

“Blizzard Entertainment is what it is today” - The Blizzard of today is nowhere near what it was when their company values were created. Now they're just a puppet with Activision's hand up their back.
