Wow! This is morally reprehensible beyond belief. There’s merit in trying to protect your commercial interests, but that merit stops when you’re defending an oppressive regime and punishing individuals for standing up to it. I guess we’ll have to wait and see how good a business move is to pander to the Chinese while…
This song wasn’t meant to be instructive Blizzard:
wow, can we start a cancel culture on Blizzard? fuck those guys! Sure, ban the player, since its not the place to do this (and im sure competition rules have some clause on political activism).. but the casters? wtf could they have done other than exactly what they did? Duck and cut to commercial?
offends a portion or group of the public,
“We should have our own launcher!” is gaming’s version of TV’s “We should TOTALLY set up another streaming service” .
Oh...Good...because we can never have enough launchers. Can’t wait for the day I have to enter my email and password several times to use my toaster.
Launcher saturation is becoming kinda annoying. Pretty soon someone is going to design a paid launcher to help you manage all of these launchers.
Today, Bethesda announced the first three Doom games were all be coming to modern consoles including the Nintendo…
That’s really too bad. Hate to see someone make a pair of good games and not be able to keep the lights on.
I think there is a real question of the censorship laws in china being a part of the reason for this though. Its Blizzards choice to bend to those laws as they dont HAVE to operate in china. But its too big a market for them to ignore.
I admit I’m surprised by this new family friendly direction from the Ass Company.
You certainly sound like a really fun person.
It’s a mixup between the legal and colloquial usage of the term. You can’t legally censor yourself since you’re allowed to put it back if you want. It’s a design choice. You can colloquially censor yourself, such as people who swear do when they’re around young children. But I agree it’s an important distinction.
Yeah, Blizzard used to be all about that mature Art, none of this PG-13 blockbuster edginess! I remember when I first started up Warcraft: Orcs & Humans - it was so Mature my beard grew an inch. And I hadn’t even hit puberty yet!
Unsurprising. Blizzard has been Disney-fying all of their IPs since the Activision merger. The day they gave taurens big, cartoony eyeballs was the day they sounded the death-knell for providing anything more mature than PG-13 blockbuster edginess. They’ve dumbed themselves down and safed-up so much to appeal to mass…
“...Dice explained that they weren’t coming and that part of the reason was due to how hard the droids would be to animate.”
As a 3D animator....are you fucking kidding me?
“And now, our newest addition, Droidekas! please ignore the fact that they were also playable and less buggy on the PS2 Battlefront 2”
Excellent post. From what I can see this blog is inherently and purposefully disingenuous - the premise is that the facial recognition technology being developed is biased against the subject’s gender, but as far as I can tell the only thing it’s trying to determine is biological sex. I am admittedly not the most…
The original design is so bad that professional animators and 3D designers are providing revised versions for free!
I read that Sega didn’t have any involvement with the movie other than licensing the Sonic characters. Sega really should have more direct involvement with their licensing efforts.
