America had ample opportunity earlier this year to decide this wasn’t acceptable. Instead they picked Biden, the physical manifestation of “it worked for me, you just need to pull yourself up by your boot-straps and deal with it”.

The canonization of St Bernie among his core base is concerning for precisely this reason. I remember how the base turned on Obama. They built him up into a savior the likes of which he could never have lived up to, even if he was so inclined (which I doubted based on his campaign platform).
