That's exactly right. I didn't have Disney Channel or Nickelodeon, so growing up any show like Facts of Life or Diff'rent Strokes with kids on it was a huge deal.

There was a point at the height of her popularity where I suggested to some people that she should run for President and everyone thought it was ridiculous. Now nobody would blink. My biggest question about it is if she still could win.

I know I'm late but finally just watched it. To me Rory having a baby as a confused 32 year old who was having an ongoing affair with someone she knew was engaged doesn't really draw any parallels with Lorelai's situation.
