I can see why Marvel cast her. She kinds looks like a squirrel (I mean that as a compliment). That and two other reasons.

Personally, just because it looks like anime doesn't mean it is. It's an animesque cartoon, as the show wasn't written or animated in Japan, but its look is inspired by anime.

Interesting. I liked the Castlevania show (in spite of its short length and occasional dips in animation quality), so I suppose that (barring studio/network interference) they'll do as good a job on that.

To be fair to Ellis and Shankar, there are a few funny moments in the Netflix series.

To be fair, the show wasn't really trying to be "fun" in the way Guardians of the Galaxy is. And yeah, the BGM is slightly lackluster. They could've hired the original games' composer, and have them conduct a real orchestra playing their music.

They give him work because he can deliver. In all honesty, apparently prior to his Bootleg Universe thing, he was primarily a gap financier (he put in money to fill the monetary gap on certain films' budgets) on films like Dredd 3D.

Hopefully, he'll bring Warren Ellis on board to write that show as well.
