The sort of sociopath that harasses or threatens someone, especially over something so laughably inconsequential, is not going to be dissuaded by the information that their target is “not in a good place”. That’s exactly what they’re trying to achieve.

I see, so “it’s okay to be white” started as an online thing, and the next step is distributing these little cards. Who says print is dead?

For Pixies I’d say Gigantic/River Euphrates/Where Is My Mind? on Surfer Rosa.

I’ve seen them in the workplace, but I assumed they were more trouble to set up than they apparently are. I shall have to look into it - I love my shumps but haven’t played one for ages. I think I’ll have to get the PC version of Danmaku 3 - it’s only $9.99 on Steam.

I did not know that, and you just had me checking my own Dell to see if it can be turned, but alas no. It is pretty old. I’ll bear it in mind for when I upgrade though - I’m happy to find out I was wrong about how easy it can be to go vertical these days.

All modern vertically scrolling shooters have that feature though.

I didn’t say “just can’t...”, I said “can’t just...” Meaning there’s a little more effort involved than simply turning a standard monitor onto its side. Looking at that pic now though, I do totally want to do this at some point. Is it your monitor?

In most games like this, you can rotate and play as a side scroller, which makes use of the whole screen. That always feels wrong to me though, somehow. When I used to have a CRT TV I’d put it on its side to play my Dreamcast vertical shooters, but you can’t just do that with modern TVs and monitors for obvious

Michael Rapaport has fans?

I didn’t mean ‘making it’ in that sense. I meant that networks are making new IP, whether it gets high ratings or not.

That’s the difference - nobody is asking Trump to talk about it and yet he never stops.

Exactly. And what’s Trump’s excuse for banging on about the election in every speech he makes? People would probably pay him to shut up about it if that was an option.

Yes indeed, ‘peak TV’ in action. Never have viewers have had such an embarrassment of riches as we have right now. There are plenty of reboots, sure, but there are also more brand new shows than most people have the time to keep up with.

What does Roseanne have to do with rural America? It’s set in a suburb of a city, not on a farm.

Tue, but what does that matter when new IP is being made despite this?

Actually, I apologise - I reread the tweet and he is making a point about numbers if that’s what ‘#s’ means. But then, who cares if new shows get made anyway?

That’s something networks have always wanted though, isn’t it? And despite that, Atlanta was commissioned recently - it only began airing a year ago, bit early to say no one wants another one.

Who said it did? The guy’s point wasn’t that new IP doesn’t get high numbers, he was saying that no one is making it, which they clearly are. In fact, shows are aloud to continue now on tiny viewing figures that would have got them cancelled in the past. Seems like a great time for original stuff from that perspective.

True. That dude seems to live in alternative reality in which Atlanta doesn’t exist. Of course new IP is riskier and therefore reboots are an attractive proposition, but the idea that they are the only game in town is patently false.
