No no no! It’s Ed-in-bur-ah.

Ack, us Scottish folk have been saying ‘Yas’ for decades, admittedly it’s more ‘yaaaaaaaaas min’ (roughly translated as ‘hell yeah man!’) but still. Words are words are words. But it does bug me when folk shoehorn pop culture quotes into the conversation.
Exactly. I really feel like women who are against this see sex workers as nasty little nymphos who are out to seduce their menfolk, rather than girls just trying to make a buck and the men as a little sad because they perhaps can’t get intimacy in other ways.
A friend once started getting anonymous texts with the lyrics to Hello by Lionel Richie. He was incredibly freaked out.
Gah, I loved the Cruel Intentions soundtrack! That and the soundtracks to Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Clerks were gateways to some excellent bands I still love.
It took me the better part of 15 years to figure out Maxwell Caulfield is also Rex Manning in Empire Records :(
No diggidy, my comment was directed pretty much solely at SNL rather than US comedy in general. It just doesn’t make me laugh and I feel slightly pissed about that because I do love a lot of comedians who have worked on that show.
Fair play, I guess I mean it didn’t come off natural or effortless as good comedy should.
Yes! Party Down! I loved that show :)
I would agree with you in some cases - I can fathom why the shit stuff is exported so often!
Ok, so I just don’t get SNL. Every time I hear a sketch is worth watching I’ll give it a go but it never raises more than a slight smile. Like, a literally half second, half smirk. I dunno, I’m Scottish, British humour is different but this wasn’t funny to me. It seems laboured, over rehearsed, the jokes are obvious…
This! I had a huge row with an ex about a girl he slept with before we got together. She’d always been the kinda girl to get drunk/high and sleep with randoms - sweet girl, knew what she was doing and was having fun. But to hear my ex call her a slut (and worse) after being one of the many men who enjoyed her attitude…
I was team aiden too...but in the way that I was glad he got away from Carrie, she’s a monster! The screams, the flaky attitude to everything, how she’s hurt when Big’s wife snubs her after she had an affair with him, when she expects everyone to bail her out of her money problems because she spends thousands of…
The death of satire. It’s all over folks, nothing to see here.
Glad you had a good holiday season, I’m sure you aren’t as miserable and twisted a person as you make out. Taking pleasure in irritating people is a pretty sociopathic trait but I do think you are wildly over estimating how effective you are at it. If you got kicks out of making people feel sorry for you, you’d be on…
Ditto. Was it Carrie Fisher? I adore her, she reminds me of my mum’s friends.
I’m from Scotland and 2am weekdays and 3am on weekends is standard for clubs. Pubs/bars/music venues are usually 11-12 weekdays or 12-1 on weekends. Restaurants are often only licensed til 11pm. Places can also apply for a late license a few times a year to extend a club license to 4am on special occasions (NYE being…
Did you really look up a post from 3 months ago to make that (bad, irrelevant) point, on Boxing day?
Gah, no! What about this don’t you get? Stop rape- EDUCATE. If Deen doesn’t think he did anything wrong, he needs to educate himself. Read stories about other sexual assaults and see the similarities and understand what he did. He needs to hear accounts from other victims and also men who have been convicted of…
