The issue at hand is that those designs are protected by patents for a period time. The patents ensure the creator has a window of opportunity to fully profit from their creation without competition. Once the patent expires, people are free to be inspired all they want. The problem is that patents last far too long…

It has definitely hit my wallet, but not hard enough to melt it down. The kicker comes when friends gift you with games and then I'm compelled to reciprocate. Valve really knows how to suck the cash from us. But hey, I got some cool games at some cool prices. :)

Seriously, Redline was epic. As a fan of both Lupin and Detective Conan, I loved the crossover special they did for those two. Great stuff all around!

I'm not exactly sure how the game is considered "free-to-play" when you actually have buy a copy of the game. Free-to-play implies that I can play the game at no cost. A subscription-free game, of course, but hardly free-to-play. Unless I missed them giving copies of the game away somewhere. >_>
