As nhat said, 30 minutes is really too short of a time to play to draw a conclusion. You have to get to at least level 20 before you start encountering the BAMs that put your ability to read an enemies movements to the test. They really hold your hand too much in the noob area (which lasts until about level 11).
If you didn't get to at least level 20 and fight your first BAM (Big Ass Monster, their term). Then or run your first instance, then you didn't play long enough. The game honestly starts you off pretty slow and really starts to pick up by about the 20th level. I wish they would add optional BAMs to the starting area…
