^ Same so hard.

is Jay-Z really going to “Actually...” Beyonce?

I think the best course of action is to find the most expensive drink they have at the open bar and keep chugging it with like-minded friends so at least you can leave behind a big bill.

i love your handle btw!

I’m concerned that there will be enough Republicans who put party above all else who will vote, and enough Democrats who can’t stand Clinton who will not vote. That said, yes, Clinton is a heavy favorite for the general election. Unfortunately, the stakes are so high that a Trump candidacy itself is terrible to fathom.

I’m seeing a bunch of people burning their GOP voter registration cards. I’m pleasantly surprised a few from the Tea Party wing are owning up and saying “yeah, we done screwed up by allying with the bigots.”

omg I’m having the same feelings towards friends & relatives back home. Though none have come right out and said “I’m voting for Trump bc racism,” I can feel the subtext crawling all over my skin. I want to vomit.

I feel like people always overshared their thoughts...it’s just that they now have the tools to broadcast their thoughts more efficiently.

tbf she mentions the beyhive. She noted that Roy wasn’t being bullied by the beyhive bc Roy is more powerful than its members (not sure if I 100% agree since the beyhive is so huge), and she also did not say that Beyonce was being bullied.

Fascist is a big one. Socialist and communist as well. Pretty much any political term has been abused by talking heads in media. The trend obviously transcends political alignment, economic philosophy, etc., but seems most egregious in political discourse.

This is a much more analytical take on the Dawson v. News Genius controversy than Sam Biddle’s.

I also had a qualm about the power issue. In some cases it’s very subjective and hard to assess. Rachel Roy may have more money, and there’s power for sure in that, but quantity can be power in and of itself. In the case of Ella Dawson, I think it was problematic that the managing editor of Genius itself started

Come now, conservatives don’t read works by female authors unless her name is Ann Coulter.

Just adding a note along with others here that I’ll miss your voice so much! I hope to read your next novel, as I loved your first.

Yeah, I understand Trump hits the right notes with the poor white communities in the United States, but how could anyone stomach supporting a candidate who collects so many racist, xenophobic, sexist, Islamophobic assholes like Trump? I know some Trump supporters in my home state, and I was honestly surprised because

Where’d you get the net earnings of $25/hr? I know Uber says this, but that’s before you start taking out operating costs for the driver that are typically paid by employers (equipment, fuel, etc.).

That’s not how economics works as pro-market does not mean pro-Uber. There are economists who are pro-regulation for this very reason.

I think it might be for some people who otherwise don’t earn a living wage from their main occupation, which in itself is a problem.

Then perhaps say that instead of just claiming that tipping is out of control, which leaves the worker in the lurch since Uber isn’t going to raise wages unless they are forced to by law.

No, advocate for a living wage.
