The article where most headlines focused on the lying, he was also accused of running a very toxic writer’s room on Patriot Act where female writers felt especially denigrated and where there were claims of not wanting to fact check stories. I think that probably rightly hurt his chances of the Daily Show as well.
The article didn’t just call out Minhaj for embellishing stories. It also called him out for supposedly running a misogynistic, toxic writer’s room that didn’t value any fact checking.
Was Minhaj actually told he’s not getting the job, or is that just a funny story he made up for a new stand up routine?
Sounds good to me. He should definitely cough up some money for being such a shitbag. Hey, maybe being forced to do big cash payouts will be good for his “process,” right?
This is a pretty good piece, with just one minor quibble, which is that its appears to be founded on two objectively incorrect takes.
Yeah, that is a stupendous effect.
Seriously!! I can’t believe there was no mention of that, it looks incredible!
OMG, a badge that enabled the Tsundere commentary would have been a perfect 100% reward. Like I would absolutely play through the game again just to enjoy the snark.
The raw speed is obviously very impressive, but the slickness of that transition is the real wow factor here, IMO. Open map, select fast travel, fade out/in in the exact same timeframe would be significantly less impressive than this map level geometry blending wizardry.
“It’s the sort of monumental labor of love you don’t see people apply to, say, Wheel Of Fortune.”
I just wanted to say “False.” as someone who watches Jeopardy every night, I could not care less how people bounce around the board, or not. It’s a fully-open gameboard, any square at any time is up for play, and that’s the point!
Not sure if you’re aware, but Walters was miserable a lot of the time making AD because of relentless bullying and harassment by Tambor. She even broke into tears about it during one of the cast’s promo interviews when it becomes clear that several other cast members thought it was just a bit of light-hearted ribbing…
Re: the show writing women. Britta was based on Harmon’s girlfriend at the time he created the show. They broke up, and she stopped being the romantic interest and became the group pariah. Then Jeff developed a potentially inappropriate crush on a much younger woman for the balance of the show. Which.... um I’m sure…
Both the characters of Shirley and Britta started out with promise and then devolved into weird stereotypes. There’s very little of the holy-roller Shirley at the outset of the show, and by the time Yvette Nicole Brown left the show, that was the character’s only trick. Likewise, Britta started out as a pretty sharp…
I had a problem, where the temple would show up in my quest, but I couldn’t fast travel to it or open it in a map.
The temples aren’t terribly interesting and only took me a few seconds, but it’s obvious to me Starfield is just another game impacted by Covid because it obviously needed another year or two of development before release but wasn’t financially viable to do so
Agreed I was very curious and disappointed they didn’t go into this.
I don’t think they were married
the lawsuit now alleges that he was actually fired, at least in part over his behavior on social media
