Still winding my way through Forgotton Anne, and it’s settled into a nice rhythm. I’m only three hours in, which is a little under halfway, so I expect (and hope!) this Ghibli-inspired puzzle-platformer has a bit more up its sleeve.
It’s a fantastic performance, probably a career best for Grace. The way he portrays Duke as terrifying normal works so well: it removes the mystique from Duke, but it also shows just how typical and insidious racism can be when it’s wrapped up in a mild-mannered package.
This entire article can fuck off. Let people eat meat the way they want it, Jesus Christ. And for the record, rare meat has a fucking disgusting, rubbery texture and is impossible to fucking chew. Get over yourselves, steak snobs, and get a fucking life.
It’s one of the weirdest but most fascinating albums I’ve heard in a long time. (This is coming from someone whose favourite album of 2015 was Dealer, BTW.) I’d describe it as the album Kid A would have been if Pablo Honey had been a punk record.
New Girl is one of the few shows where a formerly fat character was handled with some degree of sensitivity (though the depiction is far from perfect). Schmidt became more confident when he lost weight, but his newfound confidence also led him to mistreat people, and the people who knew him best didn’t like him more…
On the docket for this weekend: I’m going to try to finish Forgotton Anne. I’m a couple of hours in, but I’d like to get through the entire experience. So far, very Ghibli-/Disney-esque. We’ll see how things develop from here.
What platform are you playing the VC4 demo on? I’m trying to decide whether to get the game on Switch, PC, or PS4.
This reminds me of when I was a TA in grad school, and I could catch students plagiarizing their assignments because they would copy mistakes and typos directly out of the solutions manual.
First of all, farewell, Matt. Thank you for cultivating this site to be a thoughtful, celebratory, and progressive voice in video games. It would have been so easy to let this little corner of the web fall victim to anger, snark, or clickbait (as even many other progressive-minded gaming publications have done!) but…
The implication seems to be that the victim knew who Ansari was, but you never know.
Only to say it happened in L.A.
A few points:
lol, never even been there
Almost certainly, but in that case it won’t be due to insufficient evidence, but Scientology money.
So, all Vancouverites?
Avril Lavigne is from Napanee, Ontario.
Man, I laughed my ass off at that scene. It was so ridiculous.
I’ll be playing The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit tonight. I kind of just want to tick another game off the list before the fall deluge. I’ll also dive into Forgotton Anne over the weekend. A stray comment about the mid-budget games of the PS2 era has inspired me to clear out my backlog so I can get to Vampyr…
None. I’m really fucking lazy.
