I don’t really have any games “on the go” this weekend, so I might dip back into Just Cause 4, which I play for a few hours every now and then when I’ve got nothing better to do. Also potentially on the docket: Silt, which I might save for the plane ride I have to take next month.

Bakalova was incredible in Borat 2, so I am 100% down for this.

I used to flip through the Time magazines, like I was a sophisticated adult.

On the docket for this weekend:

Velma from Scooby-Doo is our current favorite, buffing her allies and collecting clues so she can narc to the police to take one of her opponents away

Gonna try to finish up The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story this weekend. As far as FMV games go, this one is a lot of fun and well-acted, though perhaps a bit too much on the theatrical side for some people’s tastes. Still, I enjoy it for what it is.

I too think boots are delicious.

This news was algorithmically designed to please hipsters everywhere.

This weekend I’ll be playing more of The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story, which I started last night. So far, it’s hard to form too much of an impression. The acting is very theatrical and deliberate, but you can tell the cast is skillful, since they’re all playing multiple roles. There also hasn’t been very much

100%. They teased us with Lappy in that Bayonetta 3 trailer. They’d better have something in the works.

The one valid point in that rambling, self-pitying screed is that the TMZ headline was inaccurate. If Langella thinks setting the record straight on that at the expense of his reputation is worth it, then so be it. I’m not one to prevent a creep from self-incrimination.

After having completed Glitchhikers: The Spaces Between (meh) and Lume (ugh) this week, I’m on to NORCO, and in just 90 minutes, it has become one of the most absorbing games I’ve played in a while. I’m absolutely in love with this mash-up of cypberpunk and Southern Gothic. It’s both creepy and hypnotic, but it’s also

I really loved my time with Tell Me Why. In some ways, it feels more like a sequel to Life Is Strange than Life Is Strange 2 did -- more small-town adventure than grand road trip. And yes, the views of the Alaskan landscape in the game are absolutely gorgeous.

I know that dunking on nü-A.V. Club is like shooting fish in a barrel, but this review misuses both “dance-punk” and “polyrhythmic.”

Speaking of Jeopardy!, I’ve been looking for an easy way to play custom Jeopardy games over the Internet with friends. I’ve found Factile, but the free version is very restrictive. Any recommendations?

I’ve never been a fan of lumping TFA and TRoS in the same boat. Sure, TFA is too beholden to the series’ past to really be its own thing, but at least it’s a well-told story that’s competently made. TRoS doesn’t feel like it was directed by the same person; it’s a nigh-incoherent slog that doesn’t even attain a basic

Not a mistake: “flak” is more common, but “flack” is an acceptable alternate spelling. See definition #2 here: https://www.dictionary.com/browse/flack

This weekend I’ll be continuing my adventures in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Oftentimes when one calls a game “charming,” they’re damning it with faint praise. Not so with Forgotten Land. It *is* a charming game, and it probably could have gotten by on charm alone, but it’s also a fairly meaty action-adventure

Biotech firm? BETTER OFF TED 2 LET’S FUCKING GOOOOOOO

On the docket for this weekend: more Kirby and the Forgotten Land and ANNO: Mutationem.
