Exactly. It’s pretty easy to deselect yourself from games as service and the content wars. Just don’t play games like Destiny or The Division; there are plenty of other games out there. And if you’re worried about content bloat, most side activities in those kinds of games are optional. (There are exceptions, of

This weekend, I’m finally going to check out Kids, the quasi-sequel to the 15-minute interactive animation Plug & Play. I’ve heard that Kids is very similar. I also intend to finish Yakuza Kiwami 2 - or at least get as close to finishing it as a I can.

Careful, that might cause the game to get delayed! ;)

Hey, maybe From will finally put out a game whose story doesn’t involve some arcane magic that corrupts people’s souls because reasons!

This was a necessary episode in that Blaine couldn’t remain the charming rogue forever, and he eventually had to go full villain. But I dunno, it was kinda boring? This felt like an episode that just moved chess pieces around the board. Usually this show does it with a little more flair.

I finished Chapter 6 of Marble It Up! Holy shit that was tough.

Strange lore, yes. I wasn’t aware of the weird pacing until KH2. KH1 is pretty well-paced.

On the docket for this weekend:

Wow, be careful not to cut yourself on all that edge.

The show had a genuine conflict that it could have easily set up, but it totally whiffed. Either Jane could have said that it was she who wanted the changes for her own benefit, or Jorge could have sensed that Jane was partially using Mateo’s behaviour as a pretext for asking for what she herself wanted. But instead,

This is a fucking weird premise for a show, but it’s so crazy it just might work. I am *here* for it.

Weirdly enough, darts was one of the few side activities I was actually good at. I sucked at pretty much everything else.

When it comes to side content in a Yakuza game, I just do whatever looks interesting to me in the moment. There’s no need to do anything but the story-critical path (give or take some grinding for stats).

My bet is that Luisa is trying to double-cross Rose, she’ll get way in over her head, and die helping to take down Sin Rostro in the series finale, at which point Jane and Raf will finally forgive her.

What I really dislike about the whole “bring Michael back from the dead” thing is that originally the story had a great plot about how Jane had to move on from Michael’s death without closure from Michael’s side; she effectively had to create her own closure. And bringing Michael back undermined that development, with

I have made substantial progress in Baba Is You and have now unlocked [SPOILERS] a secret area. A new mechanic has been added: spelling! Now there are individual letter tiles that you can move around the board to spell words. One problem: you can’t invent new items this way. For instance, from MOONTH, you could form

The first two books are fantastic. The third book is 500 pages of Reddit atheism before Reddit was even a thing.

I knew exactly where they were going with PEGs when Fauxlson got visibly excited about the watch ad. And I think it’s good worldbuilding: the fact that the villains’ team is depicted as valuing things differently than regular humans helps flesh them out.

Clark Gregg is really good in the role — much better than as original-flavour Coulson, I’d say.
