The Ko-shi/Ro-shi boss fight is also notable for how it slowly speeds up the rate at which you switch between the characters. It speeds up just quickly enough to build excitement but not so fast that you can’t get acclimated to the switching. So by the time A2 and 9S are united on the platform fighting the merged

Yeah, I was going to say, what about the [MAJOR SPOILERS INCOMING] dual-perspective boss fight at the end of Route C/D? But then I remembered there are at least a dozen other brilliant sequences in that game.

It’s the rare supergroup that actually worked. I hope Davey Havok and the boys from No Doubt continue to make music together.

Yeah, I’ve had trouble keeping up with music for the past few years. For instance, I didn’t even know that Rainer Maria had reunited, let alone released a new album!

Heck, the listmakers’ tastes barely align with each other!

That TWIABP record is so fucking cathartic. I love it. It’s topping my list at the moment too.

You’re absolutely right. In fact I think the only reason they haven’t announced YK2 for the West yet is because they’re afraid of cannibalizing Western sales for Y6.

Prey was such a thoughtful game. You can tell that the designers spent a lot of time thinking about how the space station worked as a system, not just as a set of connected levels for the player to navigate.

Kiwami 2 and Fist of the North Star haven’t been announced for the West yet. :(

Prey is really special. The gameplay just keeps building and building on itself as you acquire new abilities and tools.

It’s funny: in a poor year for gaming like 2016, I feel like I discover a lot of hidden gems. In a great year for gaming like 2017, I feel like I play or want to play the same games as everyone else.

This is a fucking weird animal, and I’m all about it.

It doesn’t look amazing, but at least it looks better than Mighty No. 9.

That’s fair. Ghibli’s been one of the stalwarts in hand-drawn animation for the past 2.5 decades, and it would be sad if they abandoned it entirely. At least we have Studio Ponoc now. Plus KyoAni and ComixWave put out beautiful 2D films this year as well, A Silent Voice and Your Name, respectively, but the latter,

I think the younger Miyazaki is more comfortable directing in that medium; it’s what the studio used for Ronja, the Robber’s Daughter.

This weekend will mostly be devoted to Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which is coming out tomorrow. I haven’t been this excited for a game in ages; I think it’s because I haven’t played a massive, open RPG in a while.

Okay, I don’t know where else to post this, but I’m fed up. Every time I try to load my Kinja notifications, I have to reload it between four and six times, because the page keeps displaying “Internal Server Error” followed by an inexplicable alphanumeric string. Why does this keep happening? Why does reloading the

The single versions of the songs on Pop sound better than the album versions because U2 essentially ran out of time while they were making the album, and Bono’s voice was completely strained by the end of the recording sessions. (It’s why they re-recorded “Last Night on Earth,” despite not changing anything about the

You know what? I’m actually down for this. Make it happen, Hollywood.
